Jaime Martín, conductor

After a distinguished career as a flute soloist Jaime Martín entered the world of orchestral conducting in 2007 and just one year later was championed by Sir Neville Marriner as an emerging conductor during a joint tour of Spain with the Orquestra de Cadaqués. A complete natural in the art of conducting, Jaime has already gone on to conduct the Barcelona Symphony Orchestra, Manchester Camerata, Orquesta Sinfónica de Tenerife, Irish Chamber Orchestra and Orquesta Sinfónica de Castilla y León, among others. Recent and future engagements include conducting performances with the Manchester Camerata, Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, Orchestre National de Lyon, Galicia Symphony, London Mozart Players, Academy of St Martin in the Fields as well as Barber of Seville at the English National Opera.

'From the first crisp, dry chords of Stravinsky’s Concerto in D for String Orchestra, it was obvious that here was a conductor able to communicate his love and knowledge of the music'
Irish Examiner (Irish Chamber Orchestra)
